Today I had my traintrip from Fort William to Mallaig, over the viaduct in an old steamtrain. It was an very interesting experience! It was great to actually travel in an old steamtrain, feeling the ‘shaking’ when the train starts riding. And the smoke passing the windows, sometimes coming into the carriage. But when you’re eventually riding, it felt quite like a ‘normal’ trainride. It was great to pass the ‘Harry Potter’ viaduct and the view was amazing. Mallaig was a very touristic town, but the harbour was still authentic. That’s the part I liked most. I’m a tourist myself, but it’s just a shame so many people are coming here. On the way back, I played cardgames with a nice family. The girl who was a massive Harry Potter fan, sat after we finished the games, the entire time on her Ipad. And she actually missed the part that we went over the bridge again..
